Abril Black

One of TypeTogether's latest releases, the Abril type family, keeps growing. We added two new fonts to the display part of this successful typeface. Abril Display Black and Abril Display Black Italic grant yet a bolder and more contrasted option that is suitable for the biggest headlines and signs.

Athelas - now in printed books


The small Italian publishing House, Incontri Editrice, recently published a series of books designed by Nicola Caleffi. They chose to use Athelas as main text typeface. The books, two novels, poetry and a collection of essays are beautifully set and printed on various papers.

WEBFONTS
Crete Round at Google Webfonts


Crete Round is based on Veronika Burian's award winning typeface Crete. It is a slab serif with a softer touch, perfect for headlines and short texts; and the round version has proven an excellent option for the delivery of contents on digital media. The web version of Crete Round and Round Italic have been made freely available through Google Webfonts while the complete OpenType Extended version is available for only €25 (includes both fonts).

TYPE IN USE
Smashing Magazine chooses Skolar


The popular typeface Skolar by David Březina, has been extensively used in the recent redesign of Smashing Magazine, by webdesigner Elliot Jay Stocks. The webfont is served by our partner Fontdeck. The four core styles of Skolar have been manually hinted granting optimal legibility on screen. It is also available via Typekit and WebInk.

Soleil featured in Futura


The book Futura. Une gloire typographique, by Alexandre Dumas de Rauly, Michel Wlassikoff, Norma éditions, 2011, showcases amongst others various contemporary interpretation of Futura. One of them is our recently published Soleil, by Wolfgang Homola.

Letter.2 winners in Typo magazine


The winter issue of renowned Czech magazine TYPO features José Scaglione's article about the 2nd type design competition of ATypI, Letter.2.It covers some of the most important facts about the competition, contains a table with the full list of winners and features 12 pages of images. The English text is set in Maiola, one of the competition winners. And as usually, all this is beautifully designed and printed.
