Sirba, perfect for complex text environments

TypeTogether is proud to present Nicolien van der Keur's typeface, Sirba. It is a low-contrast font, contemporary but with a classical touch, revealing its beauty in design details, such as the asymmetrical bottom serifs, curved bracketing and calligraphically reminiscent terminals. Sirba was conceived especially for the demands in complex text environments like dictionaries, academic texts annual reports, novels and magazines.

New Release
Skolar Cyrillic

David Brezina's successful type family Skolar has been expanded with a full Cyrillic character set. It supports 32 languages using Cyrillic script, besides most of the Slavic languages, many Asian and non-Slavic languages are covered too. It also supports Serbian italic alternates and “new” Bulgarian stylistics. Skolar Cyrillic has been designed as a close complement to Latin with the help of the experienced designer and consultant Alexandra Korolkova, and it has already earned its first awards at Modern Cyrillic 2009 and Granshan 2009.

Veronika and José in FONT

Czech magazine FONT invited José and Veronika to speak about their beginnings, influences, approach to design and way of collaboration amongst other things. The well designed four-page interview also shows some samples of their typefaces in use, such as in various newspapers and books.

Karmina & Ronnia are the main fonts for this beautiful piece from prolific design studio Cosgaya Diseño. Excellent legibility and outstanding efficiency are common grounds for these two fonts. Although they were developed separately they have been combined with great success in a wide range of publications. Bree, I love her poster

Talented brazilian designer Marina Chaccur designed this beautiful poster featuring Bree, the successful award-winning typeface published in 2008 by TypeTogether. This is the second poster in a series of collectibles we will make available through our website. Posters will be rolled and shipped by snail mail in a tube. Die Graphische

The students at the Austrian design school "die graphische" in Vienna chose our type family Bree for their final year catalogue showing the student's design work. Bree is nicely used throughout the book for short texts, headlines and captions.

EDUCATION
Upcoming lectures

José Scaglione was invited to speak and give a workshop in São Paulo as part of the Tipos Latinos activities in June. His talk "Shaping types" will focus on contemporary type design, its usage in newspapers and magazines, and other aspects of typography; and the two-day workshop will tackle the subject of designing lettering for logotypes and selecting typefaces that are appropiate for becoming part of a corporate identity communication program.

Veronika Burian will give a talk,"Typographic matchmaking", at Typo Berlin on the 20th of May. This year's motto is Typo Passion. Her presentation deals with fundamental issues of combining typefaces and offers guidance on how to approach the delicate matter of love and hate relationships that often exist between typefaces.
