NEW RELEASE
Eskapade Fraktur

We welcome the very talented Alisa Nowak and her Eskapade to TypeTogether's family. Alisa's first original typeface is the result of research confronting Roman and German blackletter forms, and adapting these broken forms for a contemporary use instead of creating a faithful revival of a historical typeface. Eskapade succeeds in mixing several influences in a this hybrid font that delivers outstanding legibility in text blocks and a very original look and feel.

Abril selected in two exhibitions

The newspaper type family Abril, designed by Burian & Scaglione, and published in late 2011, was selected to be part of the Bienále Brno and the 2012 edition of the Tipos Latinos competition. Abril was conceived specifically for intensive editorial use, whether it is in newspapers, magazines or digital media. It has 12 titling fonts and 8 text fonts. The Core Text package (regular, italic, bold and bold italic) were manually hinted to guarantee consistent performance in the increasingly frequent publications that are released in different kinds of media.

Catalan publishing house Tipo-e has released a new book about type design. The three authors, Cristóbal Henestrosa, Laura Meseguer and José Scaglione, share their personal insights, methods and practical knowledge about making, post-producing and selling typography.
