Tailored newspaper font for Clarín

TypeTogether has developed the new titling-typeface for Argentina's most widely circulated newspaper, Clarín. This commission was part of a redesign project led by Pablo Ruiz, senior designer at Cases i Associats and Clarín's own art director, Gustavo LoValvo. Built to work alongside Adelle and Adelle Sans, Clarín Títulos is modern and newsy with a refined feel. TypeTogether also redesigned the lettering of the newspaper's logo, for consistency.

We are very happy to announce that TypeTogether's typefaces have continued to collect further awards over the last few months: Alverata, by Gerard Unger, Soleil, by Wolfang Homola, Abril, Adelle Sans and Bree Serif, by Veronika Burian and José Scaglione, have all received the International Society of Typographic Designers, ISTD, Certificate of Excellence in Typeface Design. The ISTD is a non-profit organisation which, every three years, rewards "a high standard of design in conjunction with a high standard of typography".

Adelle Sans, Alverata, Stefan Ellmer's Essay Text, Tom Grace's Iskra and Ermin Međedović's Lipa Agate all travelled to the IV International Festival of Calligraphy and Typography "Rutenia", celebrated in Kiev — the festival chose Lipa Agate as "best modern typographic font".

Alverata and Essay Text have also been selected to be part of the 2015 Typography Annual, published by Communication Arts.

Many areas of TypeTogether's work are featured in an extensive article in America's Communication Arts Design Annual 55 (Sep/Oct issue 2014). Since 1959, the magazine has been covering the best of graphic design, typography and advertising. This issue show-cases the winning work of the 55th Annual Design Competition and also includes in-depth profiles of agency Wieden+Kennedy, artist/illustrator Scott Laumann and fashion/celebrity photographer Cass Bird.

TransFormations

Bely, Roxane Gataud's graduate project — and the first winner of TypeTogether's Typeface Publishing Incentive Program — has been selected to be part of the exhibition "TransFormations, 100 diplômes pour les industries de la création" which will be held at the Centre Pompidou (Paris) next December. One hundred students projects from creative disciplines have been selected to represent the excellence of French schools. For a whole week the students will have the opportunity to present their work in short talks and debate their topics with teachers and other creative professionals.
Roxane Gataud's talk about Bely is schedule for the 1st of December at 15.00.
