We are happy to announce the release of Adelle Sans Armenian to serve Armenian readers well on the web, in print, and on screens. We believe that broad language support is paramount and Adelle Sans Armenian is yet another push in our ongoing multilingual efforts. Originally a client project, we expanded the family to a robust seven weights plus matching italics and small caps to fill the the need for quality Armenian typefaces for editorial use. Careful research and consultation with Armenian type expert Hrant Papazian yielded cultural and typographic consistency within both the Latin and Armenian scripts. And, as if that weren’t enough, we are working hard to add the serif variant as well.

Two Free Fonts of Ebony

Released in early 2015, Ebony is a daringly bold sans serif made for branding and editorial work. Today we are making two weights free for you to try: Ebony Heavy and Heavy Italic. We recommend their use for a wide range of applications ranging from editorial publications and posters to advertising and branding. LFT Etica In Use at Medialab

Medialab Katowice is an experimental project from Poland that combines creative, research, and education activities. Participants from many disciplines meet at the collaborative intersection of art, design, and technology, using digital media to research the city and create new narratives for Katowice. With such a vast array of inputs and limitless ways of framing the resulting stories in both their printed material and on their website, LFT Etica provides the balanced voice they desired — the voice of successful collaboration and the charm of creating great stories.

COMPETITIONS
TDC Tokyo & Granshan

We are proud to announce that Dr Gerard Unger's Alverata won the top Type Design Prize at Tokyo TDC. Only one typeface among the 2,800 entries receives the annual award, and it will be part of the annual TDC book and summer exhibition. Additionally, Veronika Burian's Karmina Cyrillic won Granshan 2015's third prize for Cyrillic script. Thanks to Alexandra Korolkova's valuable feedback, Karmina Cyrillic stays true to its calligraphic roots and current typographic trends. Watch for it to be added to the full family in twelve months. Congratulations to Dr Unger, Veronika, and the rest of the winners!
