Bely honoured by Print magazine

Print magazine released a list of the best typefaces of 2016 (so far). Roxane Gataud’s Bely was included in the online list and we couldn’t be more proud of how it continues to be received among designers the world over. In fact, Stephen Coles has selected Bely and Toshi Omagari’s Marco at Identifont as recent highlights of the type world. Congratulations to Roxane and Toshi on yet another commendation!

EDUCATION
Upcoming workshop in Dublin

For the second time in Dublin, Ireland, José and Veronika will lead a three-day typeface design workshop. The event is organised by Typography Ireland and generously supported by the Graduate School of Creative Arts and Media (GradCAM) and by the Dublin School of Creative Arts at the Dublin Institute of Technology. The workshop will be held 18–20 November, so reserve your spot soon.

TYPE IN USE
Pollen in Biecorff

Belgium has much history just waiting to be shared. Undercast, a graphic design studio based in Antwerp, designed the book Biecorff about the eponymous building. Using Eduardo Berliner’s calligraphy inspired type family Pollen, the publication explores the building’s seven centuries of storied existence, focusing on that parts as well as the whole. It’s only fitting, Undercast says, that a text typeface with strong calligraphic roots would reinforce the identity of the book and the historic building.

Welcome Noel and Azza!

We are very pleased to welcome two new team members to TypeTogether: Noel Pretorious comes to strengthen the graphic design department and to collaborate in type design. He brings a strong visual acuity and is the recipient of multiple international awards. Azza Alameddine will take on the role of type engineer and type designer. She has a multicultural background, a proven track record of excellence and creativity and an upcoming workshop on Arabic typography and tiles at Nour Festival of Arts.
