Custom font for Tonies Toys

When it comes to imagination, children want to be spurred to believe in and interact with fantastical, entertaining, and educational worlds. German company Tonies SE developed the popular Toniebox, an innovative audio system for children which combines a wireless speaker with collectable figurines called Tonies. Together with UK-based children’s storytelling agency Collaborate, they commissioned TypeTogether to create a bespoke headline typeface to replace their previous retail script.

The result, made in concert with our partner and friend Petra Dočekalová, is something brush-based, vibrant, and clear. It adds an “ownable” aspect to their brand which can’t be duplicated, sets them apart in the children’s market, and acts as the new, playful branding typeface of the Tonies identity.
