TypeTogether at BITS & Fontstand
Veronika Burian, José Scaglione, and Pooja Saxena were invited speakers at BITS 11. They had an informal conversation on the main stage about our Primarium project which mapped how handwriting is taught, research into pan-African alphabets, and the Gerard Unger Scholarship.
And at the Fontstand conference, José and Veronika marked the tenth anniversary of TypeTogether’s Gerard Unger Scholarship with several activities, including a talk that looked back over the scholarship’s history. (Watch this presentation here.) To mark the tenth anniversary of the scholarship, we also just unveiled our new book, Letters for the future: Ten years of the Gerard Unger Scholarship (order your copy here), and organised an exhibition at the conference featuring the work of both winners and merits.
We always enjoy connecting with typography enthusiasts and sharing what we’ve learned, and, thanks to the organisers, these conferences were no exception. See you again at the next one!
