Adi Stern
Professor Adi Stern (b. 1966) is the current president of Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem, Israel’s first and leading art and design academy. He is a graphic designer, type designer, and design educator who graduated from Bezalel and received his Master’s in Typeface Design from University of Reading, UK.
Since 1994, Adi’s own leading visual communication studio has specialised in design for cultural institutions, as well as in book design and typography. Adi writes, consults, and lectures on the history and design of the Hebrew alphabet.
Adi’s works have been exhibited internationally, reaping several awards, including the Tokyo Type Directors Club (TDC) Prize and New York Art Directors Club Silver and Bronze awards. Additional recognition garnered from: TDC New York; Design and Art Direction (D&AD); International Society of Typographic Designers (ISTD); Society of Environmental Graphic Designers (SEGD); and the Israeli Ministry of Education and Culture Design award.
He has published Noam Text with TypeTogether.
