TDM5: Grafica Italiana was one of the permanent exhibitions hosted at the Milan Triennale Design Museum (2012–2013). The exhibition, envisioned by architect and designer Fabio Novembre, included 20th century Italian works from all categories of design: typefaces, books, magazines, advertising, packaging, visual identity, signs, films, and videos. James Clough wrote an insightful review of the exhibition.
The Milan-based studio Leftloft was responsible for the graphic design both of the exhibition and catalogue. The humanist sans LFT Etica was chosen for the editorial work as well as the exhibition signage. Its charm and versatility made it an inspired choice within the graphic design and a balanced choice throughout the space, allowing the works it housed to speak for themselves.
