We are proud to announce she has released Poltik as her first family, and it has a lot to offer. The two display styles are worthy of posters and storefront names in every way. The ten text styles play off the display with their reversed contrast, willing restraint in lighter styles, and boisterous attitude in heavier styles.

Beautifully designed by Tereza Bettinardi and edited by Linda Kudrnovská, this book maps ten years of the Gerard Unger Scholarship, which was founded to help young type designers complete and publish their typefaces professionally. Even before the release of Playpen Sans, we intended to expand the family with more scripts for the benefit wider use. Today we are officially showing the first sneak peek of those upcoming scripts: Arabic, Cyrillic, Devanagari, Greek, Hebrew, Latin Extended, and Thai.

As with the Latin, the expanded Playpen Sans family maintains the casual look of true handwriting. We have also designed several alternates for every glyph in each script and substitute them on-the-fly to enhance the typeface’s realism. Ready for the preview?
