Laima receives TDC award
February 2020
Bogidar Mascareñas’s Laima awarded with the Type Directors Club’s Certificate of Typographic Excellence.
Bogidar Mascareñas’s Laima awarded with the Type Directors Club’s Certificate of Typographic Excellence.
Our most sincere congratulations to Bogidar Mascareñas for reciving a TDC Certificate of Excellence for his first typeface, Laima. Laima was one of the 17 winners (15 professional and 2 student) from over 300 entries and 46 countries.
Laima started as a project at the KBAK typographic course, under close supervision of type design tutors. Bogidar’s project was then awarded the Gerard Unger Scholarship (previously, Typeface Publishing Incentive Programme) and was finally shaped into today’s family for release in 2019.
Laima is now the third — yes, the third from TypeTogether — Gerard Unger Scholarship type family to receive the TDC Certificate of Excellence, after Roxane Gataud’s Bely and Juan Bruce’s Noort, and we couldn’t be happier for them.
Congratulations to Bogidar and to all the winners!
