Petra Dočekalová

Petra Dočekalová is a letterer, type designer, sign painter, and lettering artist who works on new digital scripts and a wealth of lettering styles. She completed her PhD studies in 2020 on Fostering Increased Appreciation for Handwriting, Penmanship, and a Personal Handwriting Style at the Type Design and Typography studio at Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design in Prague. She is also known for her editorial work, such as the TYPO9010 book which won several global awards, and Jaroslav Benda 1882–1970, which for its English edition over-performed with its successful Kickstarter campaign in 2020. Petra has received the TDC Award of Typographic Excellence three times, and also works as part of the Briefcase and Suitcase font foundries.

Petra has partnered with TypeTogether as a letterer and type designer on several custom projects: the Primarium logo, Tonies Toys custom typeface, and other custom work.
