Even before the release of Playpen Sans, we intended to expand the family with more scripts for the benefit wider use. Today we are officially showing the first sneak peek of those upcoming scripts: Arabic by Azza Alameddine, Cyrillic by Vera Evstafieva, Devanagari by Pooja Saxena, Greek by Kostas Bartsokas, Hebrew by Tom Grace, Latin Extended by Tom Grace and Yorlmar Campos, and Thai by Sirin Gunkloy.
Playpen Sans is a casual handwriting typeface without being childish. Rather than sharing basic shapes, all the scripts share the process of the letters being made with a digital pen, maintaining the human look of true handwriting. We have also designed several alternates for every glyph in each script and substitute them on-the-fly to enhance the typeface’s realism. Check out how well all the scripts work together.
