RIP Gerard Unger

On Friday, November 23, 2018 Gerard Unger passed away at the age of 76 years. Gerard was a type legend — one of the few great masters in typography whose influence reaches well beyond his remarkable and distinctive type design work. His legacy will live on in his insightful writings and in the way his teaching and colourful personality marked the lives of hundreds of students and professionals. We at TypeTogether are deeply honoured that Gerard trusted us to publish four of his more recent type families. He was a mentor who always encouraged us to do more and do better, a dear friend, an inspirational colleague full of life and fascinating anecdotes, and above all a wonderful and generous human being.
